  Cleaner Fossil Fuels Systems (CFFS) Committee  
  Reaching out to consumers, media, legislators, educators, financiers and industry executives, the CFFS Committee promotes the understanding of cleaner fossil fuels systems for meeting global energy demand.

The CFFS Committee promotes research, development, demonstration and deployment of innovative cleaner fossil fuels technologies designed to assure energy security and environmental protection.
 
     
 
  • In August 2005, the CFFS Joint Workshop in conjunction with the World Federation of Scientists in Erice, Sicily focused on carbon capture and storage.

  • In September 2005, the CFFS Workshop in Colombo, Sri Lanka during the WEC Executive Assembly focused on cleaner fossil fuels systems with carbon capture and storage, and their advantages for the developing world.

  • In February 2006, CFFS Committee members participated in the United Nations Symposium on Natural Gas for Sustainable Development, held in Doha, Qatar.

  • In June 2006, the CFFS Joint Workshop in conjunction with Craiova Energy Complex in Neptun, Romania during a WEC Regional Energy Forum focused on cleaner fossil fuels for sustainable development.

  • In September 2006, the CFFS Focused Lecture in Tallinn, Estonia during the WEC Executive Assembly focused on global and regional efforts toward carbon capture and storage.

  • In September 2006, the CFFS Joint Workshop in conjunction with the All-Russian Thermal Engineering Institute in Moscow, Russia focused on cleaner fossil fuels for power generation.

  • In April 2007, the CFFS Dialogue in Amman, Jordan focused on mitigating the growing role of
    West Asia in global emissions, and attracted participants from 21 countries.
