Kyrgyzstan’s distribution companies can not introduce rolling blackouts by themselves – Kubanychbek Turdubayev - “Kyrgyzstan’s distribution companies can not introduce rolling blackouts by themselves,” Severelectro JSC technical director, Kubanychbek Turdubayev, stated at today’s press conference. According to him, Severelectro will try to prevent emergency power cutoff. “We are included in the “National electric network”, where power cutoff may occur due to overload. PV interest in Uzbekistan increases- Several large photovoltaic power plants are expected to be built in Uzbekistan soon, with the participation of both local and foreign investors. The country's largest energy producer, state-owned Uzbekenergo, has told pv magazine it is planning to install a series of photovoltaic power plants totaling 2 GW over the next several years. The Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan has approved new tariffs for natural gas for residents. Tariffs for natural gas will rise up to 14% from October 1st, 2012.
