IGCC


Participants will learn up-to-date information about how gasification can be an economically competitive and environmentally sound technology. The course will instruct participants in informed decision-making and best practices in engineering, construction, manufacture of equipment and production of synthesis gas by gasification from coal, petroleum coke, heavy oils, and other carbon-containing materials.  The course will provide materials on the design and construction of gasification plants, efficiency benefits of gasification, ongoing research to improve gasification technology, and how to train operational staff for the particularities of IGCC.

This course will present a comprehensive understanding of topics essential to optimized gas exploration and drilling to include technologies, cost-effective automation, monitoring key well characteristics, and on-line factors that influence operations.  The course will also present risk and environmental management procedures that can be used as tools for analyzing the safety, control procedures and environmental impact of pipeline systems in a cost-effective manner as well as streamlined reporting procedures as based on automated systems analyses.
