Natural Gas Training

 
Introduction


PURPOSE:
The U.S. – China Natural Gas Training Program, sponsored by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), will provide a forum for representatives of the U.S. and Chinese oil and gas sectors to exchange and share information, offering the potential to adopt U.S. best practices and standards.  The program will encourage and support cooperation and collaboration between U.S. and China in the development of the Chinese natural gas sector.  Additionally, it is hoped that this cooperation will meet the objectives of:

  • Promoting greater commercial cooperation between U.S. and Chinese governmental and private sector natural gas entities;
  • Establishing a training program that will encourage collaboration;
  • Showcasing advanced U.S. technology, equipment, and systems in order to adopt U.S. best practices and standards; and
  • Providing linkages to the goals and outcomes of the annual U.S. – China Oil and Gas Industry Forum.

Tracks:
All training courses will be related to three tracks which will allow the participants to select courses based on their areas of participation and interest.

Track 1 – Gas Exploration and Production:  This track will include conventional exploration and production, coal bed methane, LNG, LPG extraction and distribution, gas treating, maintenance, gas pricing, governing regulations and specifications.

Track 2 – Gas Transportation:  This track will include transmission, storage, multiple source integration, supply security, pipeline design, metallurgy and construction technology, maintenance, instrumentation and control, governing regulations and specifications.

Track 3 – Gas Consumption:  This track will include distribution, storage, metering, maintenance, compression, distribution system planning, billing systems, information technology requirements for LDC operation, natural gas odorization, instrumentation and control, power generation and developing consumer products.
