Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Power Bridge Project (AGT) [1]

Energy Technology and Governance Program

The Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey (AGT) Power Bridge Project was established in April 2009 as a sub-regional project to investigate the technical potential of the high voltage networks of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to support increased trade and exchange of electricity and strengthen network reliability.  The project grows out of the Black Sea Regional Transmission Planning Project (BSTP) and supports USAID goals of strengthening the interconnection of the three countries to enhance sub-regional electricity trade, efficiently integrate renewable energy, improve energy security and optimize the regional generation fleet.
