Biography: 

Kristen Madler serves as the Clean Energy Coordinator at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). She manages USAID’s global Energy Utility Partnership Program which provides targeted workforce development technical training and exchanges between U.S. and developing country utilities to share best practices on topics such as the integration of variable renewable energy and utility modernization. She co-manages USAID’s Scaling Up Renewable Energy program, focused on strategic energy planning and the competitive procurement of clean energy.

Ms. Madler earned a Masters in International Business Administration (MBA) from EADA in Barcelona, Spain and participated in exchange programs with the Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore to study project risk mitigation in emerging markets and with the University of Edinburgh, Scotland to specialize in carbon management. She previously worked in private equity and for energy and environmental consulting firms.
