Venue

All courses will be conducted in venues located throughout China. As the third largest energy producer in the world (following the United States and Russia), China is well placed to offer both business opportunities and experience in the gas sector. China's energy demand is expected to grow at about 5% per year through the year 2020.
Although only about 3% of China’s primary energy supply is from natural gas, it has ambitious plans to quadruple gas production by the year 2010. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is also expected to play an important role in China's future energy needs, and plans are underway to construct LNG terminals along China's southeastern coast.
Most of China’s proven reserves (estimated at 50-80 trillion cubic feet as of January 2005) are presently consumed in China for industrial uses, especially as a chemical feedstock. Residential use and electricity & district heat generation presently account for about 13% and 10% of the gas consumption, respectively. However, new gas power plants are being constructed, which will greatly increase the role of gas in electricity production.
