USEA Expresses Support for Ukrainian Energy Sector

Today, the United States Energy Association (USEA) stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

For more than 30 years, USEA has worked in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ukrainian energy sector with a singular and focused objective: ensuring energy security and availability for the people of Ukraine by integrating the country’s energy networks and markets with Europe.

Together we have:

  • provided training for thousands of Ukrainian energy managers;
  • built human resource and institutional capacity for change;
  • migrated dozens of European regulations and energy network planning practices; and
  • conducted many technical analyses to support the country’s grid integration with Europe.

Integrating Ukraine’s energy sector with Europe will substantially mitigate Russia’s capacity to use energy as a geopolitical tool, and support Ukraine with a reliable, clean supply of power.

We are heartened by the actions of our Ukrainian colleagues who continue to bravely carry out their responsibilities to maintain a reliable supply of electric power in these most challenging of circumstances.
