David Carroll

Biography: 

A respected leader in the global energy sector, David Carroll directs GTI’s wide-ranging efforts to develop the strategies, technologies, and innovations necessary to drive transformation of the global energy system.

Mr. Carroll joined GTI in 2001 and assumed his current position in 2006. Prior to joining GTI, he held various technical and management positions with Praxair, Inc., CB&I, and Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.

Mr. Carroll became President of the International Gas Union (IGU) in 2015, his term concluding at the World Gas Conference in Washington, D.C. in June 2018, and remains a member of the IGU Management Team and Executive Committee. He also served as Chair of the 17th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas held in Houston, Texas in April 2013. He sits on the board of National Fuel Gas Company, a diversified natural gas producer, transporter and utility. Mr. Carroll is a member of the American Gas Foundation Board of Trustees, the Society of Gas Lighting, and the Stanford Natural Gas Initiative Governing Board.

He earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a master’s degree in business administration from Lehigh University, and has completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
