S.W. (Steve) Niehaus is a vice president with responsibility for the Electric Power Division. His responsibilities include global design, packaging and marketing responsibilities for Caterpillar electric power generation products. The Electric Power Division encompasses products branded with the Cat, FG Wilson, MWM and Olympian names. Operations are based in Illinois, Indiana, Georgia and South Carolina, as well as international operations in Northern Ireland, India, China, Brazil and Germany.

 

Since joining Caterpillar in 1991, Niehaus has held numerous jobs in the Engine Division. From 1991-1996, he worked as engine sales manager in the Engine Division. He was named engine manager in Latin America in 1997.

 

For six years, Niehaus held the business development manager position for Solar in Singapore and San Diego. Niehaus was named the power systems manager in the Electric Power Division, moving to the global product director in 2011. He held his most recent position of general manager, retail, for the Electric Power Division from 2012-2013 before accepting the vice president position.

 

Niehaus is a graduate of the University of Iowa, with a degree in business administration.
